Tag Force 5 is a PSP game that is useful as an Edison simulator. It has the perfect combination of features, and fixes issues that are present in the Nintendo DS and 3DS games (Reverse of Arcadia, Zexel: World Duel Carnival, etc.)
- April 2010 banlist is set by default
- All banned/limited cards are implemented
- All TCG exclusives are present (e.g. Super-Nimble Mega Hamster)
- High resolution, widescreen layout is more suitable for modern phones than the DS split-screen layout
- Fast-paced gameplay with no extraneous animations and quick CPU thinking
- Matches (with sideboarding) are implemented
- PSP emulators provide save states for quick-starting matches
- Common phone controllers (Gamesir, Razer Kishi, etc.) work well with PSP emulators
The only downside is that there is only one way to duel against your own deck recipes: the Mimicry NPC.
- To unlock Mimicry, you must complete the story mode for the 7 "main" NPCs (Yusei, Jack, Crow, Akiza, Leo, Luna, and Carly)
- To complete story mode, you must gain 4 hearts for each character, and play through the cutscenes and duels after each heart is gained. (28 cutscenes!)
There are currently no cheats available to unlock this NPC automatically. However, while you can't unlock Mimicry directly using cheats, you can use cheats to make the grind easier:
- There is an NPC you can pay to find the location of all characters on the map for several in-game days.
- Then, you can use the "Talk to a person and then press Sel + Up to win a heart" cheat to automatically earn the heart.
- From there, you just need to end the day, play through the cutscene and duel, and repeat 27 more times.

This is a .zip I created directly from my SAVEDATA folder inside my PSP emulator. I have not modified it in anyway.
To use this save data:
- Install the PPSSPP emulator from the Google Play Store.
- Set up the emulator, and take note of where the emulator stores its
SAVEDATAfolder. - Find a copy of Tag Force 5 and load it into the emulator.
- Download the
.zipof my save folder, extract it (using a "Files" app), and copy the folder "ULUS10555001" to the SAVEDATA folder:
You should then be able to run the game, navigate to the "Free Duel" section, and choose "Mimicry" as your duel partner. From there, you should be able to change the deck to one of your own creations.
