Using mcberepair to Reset the Nether

This tutorial is for Minecraft Bedrock Edition worlds that have been imported to a Windows 10 copy of the game. It will work with XBox, Android, PS4, etc. worlds, but they must be first copied to a Windows installation.

Download the following two files.

Place busybox64.exe in your minecraftWorlds directory. This is located at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds.

1.13/1.14 update primer

This primer is licensed under CC0, do whatever you want.

BUT do note that this can be updated, so leave a link here so readers can see the updated information themselves.

1.13 and 1.14 are lumped together in this doc, you're on your own if you just want to go to 1.13 and not 1.14, for some reason.

1.15 stuff: https://gist.github.com/williewillus/30d7e3f775fe93c503bddf054ef3f93e

Things in Advance

  • ResourceLocation now throw on non-snake-case names instead of silently lowercasing for you, so you probably should go and change all those string constants now. More precisely, domains must only contain alphanumeric lowercase, underscore (_), dash (-), or dot (.). Paths have the same restrictions, but can also contain forward slashes (/).

TextEncoder/TextDecoder polyfills for utf-8
// TextEncoder/TextDecoder polyfills for utf-8 - an implementation of TextEncoder/TextDecoder APIs
// To the extent possible under law, the author(s) have dedicated all copyright and related and neighboring rights to this software to the public domain worldwide. This software is distributed without any warranty.
// You should have received a copy of the CC0 Public Domain Dedication along with this software. If not, see <http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/>.
// Some important notes about the polyfill below:
// Native TextEncoder/TextDecoder implementation is overwritten
// String.prototype.codePointAt polyfill not included, as well as String.fromCodePoint
// TextEncoder.prototype.encode returns a regular array instead of Uint8Array
// No options (fatal of the TextDecoder constructor and stream of the TextDecoder.prototype.decode method) are supported.
// TextDecoder.prototype.decode does not valid byte sequences
