"main_text": "254\n\nCounsel for the Higgins Oil & Fuel Company, the matter of making said lease on the terms as above stated;\nResolved, further, that after said lease shall have been agreed upon between the said General Counsel, that N O Head, Esq, General Counsel of this Company, is hereby requested to take said lease up with the Receivers of this Company in Houston with the view to having the same authorized and approved by the Court.\nThereupon, on motion, duly seconded, the following resolution was unanimously adopted:\nWhereas, Messrs. Edward Whitaker, J. S. Bache, Henry J. Bowdoin, John G. Sheley and Patrick Calhoun have heretofore advanced the money to purchase the indebtedness of J.W. Bailey against the Southwestern Oil Company amounting to $138,150 on January 30, 1905, and 2,494 shares of the Capital Stock of said Southwestern Oil Company and an order on the Maryland Trust Company for 555 shares more of the capital stock of said Southwestern Oil Company; and whereas, they have also procured the advance from the St. Louis Union Trust Company of St. Louis of money needed for working capital for the said Southwestern Oil Company and are also proposing to make further advances to the said Southwestern Oil Company; Now therefore, be it\nResolved, that so far as this Board can, under the situation of the Company, it will endeavor in any reorganization of the Houston Oil Company of Texas to protect the above named gentlemen who have made said advances so that they shall be repaid and returned the full amount of their money so advanced or any sums that they may advance, with six per cent (6%) interest.\nThereupon, on motion duly seconded, the meeting was adjourned.\nJ.A.
