Installing Diablo Immortal on Steam Deck

Battle.net

Windows application, running under Proton

1. Switch to desktop mode
2. Open web browser (Firefox / Chrome)
3. Navigate to https://battle.net/
4. Scroll to bottom, find "Battle.net Desktop App"
5. Download Windows Installer
6. Open Steam
7. Add non-stream game
8. Find executable (Downloads)
9. Start Steam in Desktop mode
10. Navigate to Library
11. Navigate to non-steam game
12. Find Battle Net Installer
13. Open options
14. Navigate to Properties
15. Set compatibility
16. Use Proton 7
17. Close properties
18. Launch Battle Net Installer
19. Select Language
20. Log in
21. Select Diablo Immortal
22. Install
23. Wait
24. Launch
25. Watch it crash.
26. It won't start.
27. Updates after updates after updates.
28. Uninstall in frustration, and to get your storage space back.
29. Uninstall Battle.net-Setup.exe
30. Hope you get that storage space back, too.
