Here’s the updated instructions and checklist, now combined with a clear explanation of NFC in a
Welcome to DeskHub! Follow these instructions to set up your device and configure the NFC-based automation for Do Not Disturb (DND) mode.
NFC (Near Field Communication) is a short-range wireless communication technology that allows devices to exchange information over very short distances, typically a few centimeters.
- Built-In NFC Reader: Your phone (or another NFC-enabled device) has an NFC reader built in. On iPhones, the reader is located near the top of the device.
- Proximity: NFC works when your phone is held close—within a few centimeters—of an NFC tag.
- Electromagnetic Induction: The phone's NFC reader creates a small electromagnetic field that powers the NFC tag.
- Data Transmission: The NFC tag sends its data (like a URL, text, or command) back to the phone, which interprets it and performs an action.
- Triggering Automation: In this setup, the NFC tag on the DeskHub triggers a shortcut on your phone to toggle the Do Not Disturb mode.
For NFC to work, your phone needs to be aligned correctly with the NFC tag. Hold the phone at the top center of the DeskHub to locate the tag.
Follow these steps to connect your DeskHub to a Wi-Fi network and set it up:
