DEEP Assistant is a browser extension that provides AI chat functionality through various AI providers. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.
DEEP Assistant may collect website content including:
- Text content from web pages you choose to share with the AI assistant
- Images that you explicitly share through the chat interface
- URLs and page titles of websites you visit (only when you actively engage with the extension)
- Selected text or hyperlinks that you choose to discuss with the AI
Important: Website content is only collected when you actively use the extension's features (clicking the floating icon, using the sidebar, or accessing the chat interface). The extension does not automatically collect or monitor your browsing activity.
- Chat messages and conversations you have with the AI assistant
- User prompts and AI responses
- Chat history stored locally in your browser
- AI provider preferences (which AI services you choose to use)
- Extension settings and customizations
- Site preferences (websites where you've chosen to hide the floating icon)
- All chat history and personal preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
- Your data never leaves your device except when sent to AI providers (see below)
- When you send a message to an AI assistant, your message is transmitted to your selected AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, etc.)
- Each AI provider has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your data
- You control which AI provider receives your data through the extension's settings
- Website content is only processed when you explicitly share it through the chat interface
- Content may be sent to your chosen AI provider to generate relevant responses
- No automatic content scanning or background data collection occurs
Your chat messages and any shared website content are sent to the AI provider you select:
- OpenAI (ChatGPT, GPT models)
- Anthropic (Claude models)
- Google (Gemini models)
- Fireworks AI
- Groq
- Together AI
- OpenRouter
Each AI provider operates under their own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their policies:
The extension may download configuration files from Dell internal servers to:
- Update AI provider configurations
- Download new chat prompts and templates
- Sync extension settings
No personal data or chat content is sent to Dell servers.
- We do not use analytics services
- We do not track your browsing behavior
- We do not collect usage statistics
- We do not use cookies or tracking pixels
- All local data is stored using Chrome's secure storage APIs
- Communication with AI providers uses encrypted HTTPS connections
- No data is stored on external servers by DEEP Assistant
- You can delete all local data by removing the extension
- View your data: Access your chat history through the extension interface
- Delete your data: Clear chat history or uninstall the extension to remove all local data
- Control sharing: Choose which websites and content to share with AI assistants
- Provider selection: Select which AI providers receive your data
- activeTab: Access current page content only when you use the extension
- storage: Store your preferences and chat history locally
- Host permissions: Communicate with AI provider APIs you've configured
- Local data: Retained until you delete it or uninstall the extension
- AI provider data: Governed by each provider's retention policies
- Configuration data: Updated periodically from Dell servers, no personal data involved
DEEP Assistant is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the extension's update notes.
