Thanks for your help; I don't want to push any RVM support on to you 😉 so please let me know if I should report this to RVM and I will.
@jc00ke, that is because Github now makes redirect from url like https://gist.github.com/raw/.... to https://raw.github.com/.... and curl catch it only if called with -L key (like curl -L https://gist.github.com/raw/... ).
If you'd look at downloaded file, you didn't ask this question, cause Github put descriptive message in it.
Use
curl -L https://gist.github.com/raw/1658360/2eee5541435663deddd674617bf26ae645b015bd/cumulative_performance.patch > $rvm_path/patches/ruby/1.9.3/p0/falcon.patch
or
curl https://raw.github.com/gist/1658360/2eee5541435663deddd674617bf26ae645b015bd/cumulative_performance.patch > $rvm_path/patches/ruby/1.9.3/p0/falcon.patch
Ah, thank you! I've had a terrible head cold & apparently my brain is not quick enough to debug this on my own. I'm running the install with the patch right now & it was applied successfully (of course!) so thank you for your help! That redirect has caused me issues in the past. I should have remembered that.
@jc00ke, "falcon.patch" is now included into rvm https://gist.github.com/1688857#gistcomment-79311
@funny-falcon ah, maybe it's because I did not explicitly check out the
1_9_3_p0branch? I'll try again with your exact method in that hastebin.
