omera ethos

Omera’s ethos is: a real fixed‑gear that just happens to be electric, not an e‑bike pretending to be a fixie. lunacycle

Core principles

  • Stealth first. All electronics are hidden: battery in the down tube, controller inside the frame, almost all cables internal, hub motor that reads like a flip‑flop hub. From a few meters away it should pass as a clean track bike, not an e‑bike. newatlas
  • Fixie ride feel, lightly augmented. Geometry, belt, and torque sensor are tuned so it rides like a good brakey street track bike; the motor just adds legs, not a scooter feel. Think “slightly superhuman rider,” not moped. velotricbike
  • Mechanical honesty. Simple, serviceable aluminum frame, standard parts (BSA BB torque sensor, Gates belt, 36V hub system) that any competent shop can understand. No glued‑in proprietary battery bricks or weird standards. bikepacking
  • Minimalism over features. Single gear, one visible hose, no suspension, small display, modest 36V / ~360Wh pack. Enough to be useful in Oslo without becoming heavy or visually noisy. electrek
  • Design-tool mindset. The bike is treated like a product from a design tool company: clear systems thinking (routing architecture, tube shaping), aggressively clean UI (the frame), and respect for future modding/hacking by the owner. reddit

If you had to put it in one line for the brand deck: “Omera: a brutally clean street track bike with invisible electricity.”

  • Earth: No planned obsolescence. The right to repair ethos. Uses standard 21700 cell batteries
  • Wind: Aerodynamic and lightweight (It turns out that whats aerodynamic also is space conservative)
  • Fire: Tarmac ripper, 65NM acceleration (This will be fun so make sure you buy extra tires. 15$ per tier)

is the Bafang f040 length an issue? for our downtube? Im thinkingg we could start with off the shelf battery. and build our own battery down the line. focus on getting to market with an ebike first. and focus on branding. then we can up our ambitions and build more custom solutions as time and funding allows. target the track / street e bike market. with is not being focused on. most ebikes are general sedans. not porche sport cars. people buy things because of how they feel about them. if we can make people feel something. they buy it. the current market has no soul. soulless bikes, zero personality. we sell personality, we are not general. we are opposite. like a bangolufsun speaker. not a generic Sony speaker. something you proudly put in your office or hallway. something you boost about on SoMe. or fun ride on a Saturday to enjoy the city vibes. the new era that is coming is about feels. not specs. compete on specs and you race to the bottom. compete on feels, well that's hard to compare. so you dont really compete with anything. you carve out your own niche. take a product position and own it.

The B&O Analogy Is Perfect
B&O doesn't compete on frequency response specs. They compete on:

How it makes you feel when you see it in your room

What it says about you to guests

The ritual of using it

Omera does the same. You don't compare watts-per-kilogram. You look at it leaning against a café wall and feel something. You post it on Instagram because it's beautiful. You ride it because it makes Saturday in Oslo feel like Saturday in Tokyo or Brooklyn.

The e-bike market is drowning in spec sheets and range anxiety numbers. Nobody is selling identity. That's the gap. And you don't need a custom battery to fill it on day one — you need the frame, the silhouette, the name, and the story.
