The Wakizashi

The Wakizashi is a 13-furnace (equivalent), single-thruster, 8-tile-wide Factorio spaceship design. It can be built in 15 launches.

This is essentially a nuclear version of the Tanto.

Blueprint

This ship can be a bit of a pain to get bootstrapped, as it can take a while to get enough ice to start the nuclear reactor. I do the following:

  • Add a logistics request for a stack of yellow ammo
  • Cut the electric furnaces
  • Wait until the nuclear reactor has enough water to start supplying power
  • Depart for Vulcanus
  • Paste the electric furnaces
