Project: Linked List
Group Member Names: Katie Scruggs (me), Julie Hawkins
Project Expectations: What does each group member hope to get out of this project? We expect to at least achieve Phase Three requirements and talk about how we would execute Phase Four. Hopefully we will also do Phase Four. We also expect to have fun with this project while trying new things. I expect to get a better handle on GitHub.
Goals and expectations: Have fun and experiment while creating an awesome project.
Team strengths: We both have Learner and Ideation in our StrengthsFinder lists, which will help us learn new things and come up with innovative solutions to problems we encounter.
How to overcome obstacles: Using our strength of ideation, asking for help from Mod 2 and our Mod 1 peers, and setting up the expectation of communication.
Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually?): We prefer to work over weekends remotely (checking in with Slack) and in the afternoons in person after school.
Communication Expectations (How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open?): Over the weekend, touch in once over video/phone call. Concise little updates over Slack frequently.
Abilities Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement): We both want to improve with Git / GitHub. I would like to improve with CSS (using classes, using kebab-case, organizing CSS), and I would like to make smaller JavaScript functions that are more specific. Julie has similar goals.
Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?): We will both make HTML sketches, we will pair program the HTML file. Then we will delegate portions of the CSS and JavaScript depending on skill / motivation.
Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests): We will practice GitHub flow together, pushing and pulling requests when we are both available to check on them and make sure we understand how it works. When features are finished, they will be pushed to GitHub.
Expectations for giving and receiving feedback: When code is pulled down for GitHub, the other person will review it. If we are remote, we will comment code that we think could be improved or take notes. If we are together, we will talk about the code. We will not alter each other's code without explicit permission. We both will make sure to recognize each other's achievements and give positive feedback.
Agenda to discuss project launch: We have made an agenda to launch the project tomorrow through Slack screen sharing tomorrow (Saturday).
Ideas: scroll bar!
Tools: Sublime, GitHub, Google, other Humans (pairing with Mod2 and our classmates).
Additional Notes: We are excited to work on our first pair project together, and think we will come up with a cool finished product.
